First attempt a burger buns!!!

I'm trying to be really good with my money this month which means no unecessary trips to the supermarket.  You know the ones, you go for a bottle of milk and end up spending over 10 quid.  Anyways, the kids wanted burgers for tea.  Great I've got burgers in the freezer.  Unfortunately no fresh buns to put them in.  I thought I would try to make my own.  I've made bread before but it never seems to have the same texture as bread you buy in supermarkets.  I wanted soft fluffy buns without a hard crust.  After much searching and comparing of recipes I came up with a one which sounded ok and had all the ingredients for.  I don't have a bread maker so had to do it by hand.  I rolled each one into a small ball in my hand instead of rolloing out the dough.  They turned out beautifully soft and spongy.  I made 14 from this recipe.  Next time I think that I will let the dough rise in the bowl before rolling into buns and letting rise again.  I might also use a little less sugar and a tiny bit more salt.  But for a first try I think that it was a success.  The kids couldn't get enough.  Can't wait to have one with thick cut ham and pease pudding.

I know they are not all round but they look ok don't they.

This is where I got the recipe http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/soft-sandwich-buns/detail.aspx

Try them they are lush :-)
